Who wants to host a meeting in a location that already screams for your attendees to fall asleep within the first 10 minutes, or to return from a kick-off event that motivated your employees like a glass of still water? I don’t! And I imagine you don’t neither.
Choosing the right location for your event makes delivering your event message so much easier. l love venues that are authentic and unique, a space with charm and sparkle, a place to tell your story.
The Former Main Customs Office of the Port of Hamburg (“Ehemaliges Hauptzollamt Hafen Hamburg”) is such a place in my opinion. This event location is located in the historic warehouse district of Hamburg, directly at one of the city’s many canals (“Zollkanal”), and lived its own story inside the impressive building structure. Back in the days, it functioned as a gate between water and land, controlling tea, spices, coffee, and tobacco from all over the world, before entering the city. Today, it serves you in holding exclusive conferences or celebrating with your employees in style.
While the venue impresses with its historical red brick architecture on the outside, it will surprise you with its modern design on the inside. High ceilings and a huge and bright glass front make this location feel open and spacious, giving lots of room for creative meetings and festive gala dinners. Say goodbye to dark and cave-like meeting rooms and invite your attendees to elegant seminar rooms on the upper floor, or come together for refreshing plenary sessions and exhibition space on the ground floor.
In addition, the large square in front of the Former Main Customs Office building is ideal for you to roll in delicious food trucks for your summer party, or set up cozy Christmas markets for your end of year party. Fancy a long red carpet entrance? Here’s your perfect event location.
The close proximity to the city center of Hamburg gives you plenty of options to plan activities in walking distance if you feel to change the scene for an afternoon or dine in one of the many charming restaurants along the harbor. Talking about it, this event location even has its own shipping pier. How cool would it be to surprise your guests with their exclusive longboat, waiting to take them on a spectacular sunset trip along the river Elbe?
